Sample data and your API

What is sample data, what the browser remembers, which actions save nothing yet, and where to plug in your own API.

Everything is sample data

The template has no back end and no database. Every balance, card, stock, chart point, transaction, notification and person you see is sample data written in the code, so the dashboard looks complete the moment it starts. You replace it with your own data, usually from your own API.

The sample data lives beside the screen that shows it, one file per widget, so you can replace one part at a time.

What works without a server

Works in the browserSaves nothing yet
Searching, sorting and paging the transactions table, and narrowing it with the date range and the Filter dialogAdd Transaction on the transactions page
Exporting the transactions to a CSV file, and the charts to PNG imagesThe quick transfer and the fast transfer
Dragging the key figures into a new order, which the browser remembersAdd Card on the cards page
Locking, unlocking and deleting a card until the next reloadThe header's search and refresh buttons
Marking notifications as read until the next reloadSave Changes and Help & Support in the settings
Dark Mode and Language in the settings' Preferences, and Sign OutThe Apple and Google sign-in buttons, Remember me and Forgot password?

The transactions page opens on the last 30 days, which holds every sample transaction: their dates move forward so the newest is always today. The forms in the right column still check what is typed. They are the places where your own API comes in.

What the browser remembers

  • The signed-in user, until Logout.
  • Light or dark mode.
  • The order of the key figures on each page you dragged them on.
  • In demo mode only, the colour picked in the colour switcher.

These are kept per browser. Clearing the site's data resets them all.
