Requirements
What to install before you run the site, with Docker or without it.
With Docker
- Docker Desktop on macOS or Windows, or Docker Engine on Linux. The site has its own
Dockerfile; Compose is not needed. - An internet connection for the first build, which downloads the base image and the dependencies.
- Nothing else: the image brings Node.js 24 and Yarn.
Without Docker
- Node.js 22 or newer, as
package.jsonasks. The Docker image runs Node.js 24. - Yarn 4, through Corepack. Run
corepack enableonce;package.jsonpins the Yarn version, soyarnpicks the right one. If your Node.js has no Corepack, install it first withnpm install -g corepack. - No global packages.
No back end
The site needs no database, no API and no account with any service. Next.js builds both languages as static pages.
Some pictures and logos load from images.unsplash.com and cdn.simpleicons.org, so they need an internet connection to show. The build also downloads the Inter and Noto Sans Arabic fonts once.
Port
The site listens on port 3030, with Docker and without it. Make sure nothing else uses it, or run the site on another port.
